We are seeking highly motivated, experienced individuals with strong analytical and creative thinking skills to work in all aspects of fire protection engineering including building code consulting, fire alarm system design, occupant egress analysis, and fire protection strategies. The successful applicant will coordinate and conduct building plan reviews, interpret the building code, develop Alternative Solutions, prepare building design reports and coordinate with fire protection engineering teams. The candidate will be responsible for the review and implementation of fire protection strategies and will coordinate on all matters with the design team and authorities having jurisdiction.

 
Requirements:
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred Fire Protection Engineering), or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

·         Diploma in Architectural or Fire Protection Engineering Technology with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a building code consultant or in a related field;

·         Knowledge of local and national building and fire codes;

·         A strong understanding of fire protection engineering principles;

·         Experience in developing building code concepts, equivalencies, conducting building plan reviews and field reviews;

·         The ability to work well independently and to interact with other industry professionals, associated trades and industry authorities;

·         Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in the English language;

·         Certified Professional designation would be an asset.
