Don Pedde is the current Chair of the Building Code Appeal Board, appointed by the BC Attorney General in 2023. Don's appointment follows his 37 years of industry experience in the building construction industry.
Don's career included eight years in the building trades, seven years in an architect’s office, and 17 years of service in municipal government as a building official. In his final full-time role, Don was a Senior Codes Administrator with the Building and Safety Standards Branch (as it was then known) in the Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs. Don has contributed to the broader community through ministerial appointments to the Executive Committee and Complaints Committee of the Building Officials’ Association of British Columbia. He is a lifelong learner with a Local Government Administration Certificate from Capilano University and a Carpentry Journeyman credential from Camosun College. Don previously held two professional designations from the Building Officials’ Association of British Columbia: Building Code Qualified and Registered Building Official.
