Volunteer: District of North Vancouver Advisory Design Panel

Are you a Registered Professional Engineer who is interested in helping to shape the community youlive in and leave a lasting legacy?

The District of North Vancouver is looking for a Professional Engineer (registered in BC), who resideson the North Shore to sit on the Advisory Design Panel (ADP). ADP is responsible for reviewingdevelopment applications and public projects against urban design objectives and advising Council andmunicipal staff on the design of projects, including site layout, exterior design, building materials, landscape design, and accessibility.

The panel is comprised of 11 volunteers who are experts in their fields and each represent aspects of the construction industry.

The role of the Engineer is to assist in identifying construction, code, or design issues that may impact the building form, the urban design and landscape design and public realm.

The ideal volunteer will be a registered professional engineer specializing in the construction industry be it as a code consultant, structural engineer or transportation engineer. Experience with a mix of development types including larger scale residential and commercial projects is desirable, along with the ability to provide clear and concise feedback, and an intimate knowledge of the North Shore.
