SFPE BC Presents an in-person panel discussion on Construction Fires at the Fraserview Golf Club, located 7800 Vivian Dr, Vancouver, BC at 6:30PM on November 26th
If you were unable to sign up for this in person meeting, do not worry, we will be welcoming last minute walk-in entries at event! We will be allowing walk-in admission the venue is at capacity. As the food orders are already closed, we will not be offering food to walk-in, to compensate for this, all walk-in attendees will be charged a reduced fee, see details below.
Please note there is a $50 door fee for signups with dinner, and a $30 door fee for walk-ins attendees (no food).

Andrew Harmsworth, M.Eng , P.Eng, CP, FEC
Andrew has a Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering from UBC and is a Registered or Licensed Professional Engineer in all Western Provinces and Washington State, as well as a Certified Professional under BC’s Certified Professional Program.
Andrew is a member of Codes Canada’s Standing Committee on Fire Protection and is a Founding Principal of GHL Consultants Ltd in Vancouver with 30 years’ experience in Fire Science and Building Code consulting. A member of BC’s Mass Timber Advisory Council, Andrew is the Fire Engineer responsible for over a dozen mass timber buildings including the 18 storey Brock Commons TallWood House at UBC. He has successfully negotiated approval for a number of mass timber buildings with significant exposed mass timber.
Rick Cheung, P.Eng, FEC
Fire Protection Engineer, Assistant Fire Chief City of Vancouver
Rick is a senior fire protection engineer who has been actively involved in the development of the national building and fire codes for many years, and currently serves as an assistant fire chief with Vancouver Fire Rescue Services. In addition to his work at the City of Vancouver Rick has also assisted the fire protection community in teaching roles at BCIT and is a former executive member of the BC Chapter of the SFPE
Saul Schwebs, Architect AIBC

Saul is committed to fostering sustainable urban development while balancing regulatory requirements with innovative design and community needs.

Jason is Vice President, Client Executive in the Construction and Commercial Real Estate department at BFL Canada.
BFL Canada provides risk management and insurance placement strategy to their clients, predominately in the real estate development and ownership space. Jason has 12 years experience providing risk management and insurance advisory services to his clients.
