JENSEN HUGHES Consulting Canada Ltd. has job openings for qualified Forensic Engineers in Vancouver. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a team of Engineers and Technologists. The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting field investigations of fire sites, and coordinating the follow-up analysis, testing, and reporting of results. In addition to our company resources, the Forensic Engineer will work with industry experts, trades people, and municipal and provincial authorities to examine and document the fire scene, retain evidence, and prepare court-ready documentation that may be used in civil or criminal litigation. This position requires good physical fitness, involves frequent travel on short notice, and field work is generally conducted in challenging work environments (i.e., burned buildings).


Requirements:
·         Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or appropriate combination of education and work experience;

·         3 – 5 years of experience in conducting field reviews, fire/safety investigations, risk assessments, computer modelling, or fire testing;

·         Advanced training in fire protection engineering, fire-fighting, or other related field;

·         Good working knowledge of National, Provincial and local Building Codes;

·         Ability to effectively work independently and to communicate with associated trades and industry authorities;

·         Exceptional verbal, technical and written communication skills in the English language.
