Jensen Hughes - Chemical | Fire Protection Engineer - Toronto, ON

JENSEN HUGHES Consulting Canada Ltd. has an immediate job opening for a chemical engineer with at least 5+ years’ experience and knowledge of the fire code with specific experience in compliance requirements for flammable liquids and dangerous goods. The individual will coordinate and conduct industrial facility reviews, interpret the fire code, develop Alternative Solutions, prepare fire code compliance reports and coordinate with fire protection engineering teams. The candidate will be responsible for the review and implementation of fire protection strategies and will coordinate on all matters with the design team and authorities having jurisdiction. 

Requirements:
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Fire Protection Engineering preferred) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a fire code consultant or in a related field;

·         Knowledge of Ontario and National Building and Fire Codes; 

·         An understanding of fire protection engineering principles; 

·         The ability to work well independently and to interact with other industry professionals, associated trades and industry authorities; 

·         Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in the English language; 

·         Experience in developing code concepts, equivalencies, plan reviews and field reviews; 

·         Professional designation required.
