Integral Group’s Vancouver office is seeking a Junior Fire Protection Designer to join our team. 

The Junior Designer is a team player with the ability to receive and execute instructions from Senior Designers or theTeam Leader with minimal supervision. This individual will have proficient operating knowledge of AutoCAD. In addition this individual will have strong communication skills, the ability to use their initiative and be eager to learn.


  • AutoCAD operator
  • Provide production assistance to the Design Staff as follows:Set up AutoCAD drawing files including digitizing and cleaning up working drawings
    • Fire Protection drafting as per mark-ups provided by Design Staff
    • Ensure Integral design checklist (drawing standards section) is being followed
    • Ensure Integral’s AutoCAD Standards are being followed
    • Maintain AutoCAD files
    • Co-ordinate Fire Suppression requirements with other mechanical and electrical services (assistance provided by Design Staff as needed)
    • Detailed check of work prior to returning finished product to Designer


  • University degree, college/technology diploma, or technician certificate in Mechanical or Fire Suppression Engineering design or other applicable area
  • Minimum 2 years AutoCAD experience coupled with design experience in Fire Protection water-based systems
  • Knowledge of HVAC and Plumbing design an asset
  • Knowledge of Fire Alarm and Detection design is an asset
  • Revit experience is an asset
  • Ability to read Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical drawings with supervision provided by senior staff
  • Ability to think mechanically and/or mechanically inclined
  • Some knowledge of applicable building codes and NFPA Standards is an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be a team player
